Thank You for Sticking With It
When we launched Stick With It, the message was pretty simple.
"Whatever you're going through, you don't have to go through it alone."
Over the past few weeks, I've watched people right across Australia get behind that message. Families, footy clubs, schools, businesses, players and communities wore the tape, bought the merchandise, donated and shared the message.
Some people had conversations they might not have had otherwise. And that's what Stick With It was always about.
So, from me and everyone at Goanna Academy...thank you.
Every roll of tape, every donation, every purchase and every person who got behind the campaign has helped us take the next step. Because the tape might start the conversation and we want that conversation to keep going.
Over the next 12 months, the support from Stick With It will help Goanna Academy deliver Mind & Movement Clinics and mental health programs in communities across Australia.
Some of these programs will be delivered alongside incredible partners who share our vision, including Harvey Norman, Nicho Hynes, Melbourne Storm, the South Sydney Rabbitohs and the St George Illawarra Dragons.
For me, that's what makes this campaign so important - and now it's about what happens next..
- It's another young person learning that it's okay to speak up.
- It's a parent having a conversation with their child.
- It's a mate checking in on another mate.
- It's getting into communities and giving people some practical tools to look after their mental health and look out for the people around them.
- And sometimes, it's simply reminding someone that they're not on their own.
The campaign might be finished for this year, but the work isn't.
The conversations keep going.
The clinics keep going.
And we'll keep turning up in communities across Australia.
For me, mental health has never been something you "tick off" and move on from. It's something I continue to work on every day. I know how important it is to have the right people around you, to ask for help when you need it, and to keep showing up, even when life feels hard.
That's what Stick With It means.
It's not about pretending everything is okay.
It's about taking one step at a time, leaning on the people around you, and knowing there's strength in reaching out.
Although this year's campaign has come to an end, our work doesn't stop here.
The conversations will continue.
The clinics will continue.
The support will continue.
And if you'd still like to be part of it, you can. Donations remain open, and every purchase of our Stick With It strapping tape or merchandise continues to help us reach more communities and create more opportunities for these conversations.
From my family and everyone at Goanna Academy, thank you for believing in what we're building.
Thank you for helping us reach more people.
Thank you for sticking with us.
And most importantly, thank you for helping more Australians know they never have to face life's challenges alone.
Stick with it.
