Through Their Words

“It has helped me with my mental health. Three weeks ago I wanted to kill myself but now that I have more of an understanding of how to help myself and I don’t want to anymore.”

– MindEd Student Participant

“I took away the need to look after me to be able to help my son. Also, Greg saying he had bipolar made my son feel normal… I agree with the conversation around stigmas.”

– Participant, Tamworth Adults Mental Health Forum

“That regardless of being one of the greatest to ever play rugby league, he is also human like the rest of us and has the same real struggles.”

“In 2023, 450+ students received Goanna Academy Mind-Ed Program across NSW. It is great to see a service that is genuinely interested and motivated to drive positive change by creating awareness and providing strategies through Greg’s lived experiences to improve the life outcomes of our students.”

“We are pleased to report that, as a direct result of your programs, so far four students have reached out for counselling, and five students have sought work and study support. This is a testament to the positive influence of your workshops and the meaningful connections and rapport we have been able to build with our local schools, and their students.”

– Courtney Tyrell, Headspace Nowra

– Andrew Abdo, CEO, NRL

We are proud and privileged to have our home on this land, and to be able to continue the long tradition of community coming together around food, begun thousands of years ago by First Nations peoples. As we stand together on this unceded land, we acknowledge that our First Nations people are the original custodians of this land and we recognise their deep connection to land, water, sky, and community which continues today. We pay our deep respects to community elders, past, present, and emerging, for they hold the memories, the traditions, the culture, and the hopes of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Always was, always will be Aboriginal land.
